Yesterday Calypso's headstone was FINALLY placed!! Too late for her second birthday but just in
time for her 2 year angel day approaching on the 7th!

We all went out to the cemetery and fixed up her gravesite. On her 2nd birthday we buried her
ashes in the cemetery. The headstone installers surrounded it in the concrete for the foundation of
her headstone. So her ashes and lovies are all very safe now

Calypso Paikea Rhyder Lane was born on June 14, 2007. She was 3lbs 1.9oz and 13" long. She was born
at 29 weeks 5 days gestation.

Calypso did well at first but on June 20th was diagnosed with NEC. NEC is an infection known as
Necrotizing Enterocolitis. It is a horrible infection that kills the lining of the intestines
rendering them dead. Calypso's infection spread to her kidneys. On July 7, 2007 we were forced to
take Calypso off of life support at 23 days old. She died at 3:50 pm.

Calypso was our last child.

SWEET DREAMS

Sweet dreams are all I have of you, they're all you left behind,
Those cherished, lovely memories, never again to find.
On earth you were so wonderful, no child could I compare
To all the love you gave to me, you were so meek, so rare.
Sweet dreams they keep me going through the long and lonely night,
How I wish that I could hug you here and squeeze you oh so tight.
If I could walk to Heaven dear, to see you every day,
Just know I'd never want to leave, I know I'd long to stay.
We parted here on earth my child, but God's will shall be done,
Then dreams will be reality for once more we'll be one.
I love you for eternity, forever and some more,
Because you were the sweetest child, the kindest and most pure.
If Heaven's full of Angels, like you were here on earth,
I thank the Lord for lending you, for giving me your birth,
One day my child I'll see you there, so please look out for me,
You'll see my smile so wide before you see my spirit free.
God takes the sweetest Angels first, this we know is true,
For He came here and looked around, my darling, He chose you!

For Precious Calypso

They say there is a reason,
They say that time will heal,
But neither time nor reason,
Will change the way I feel,
For no-one knows the heartache,
That lies behind our smiles,
No-one knows how many times,
We have broken down and cried,
We want to tell you something,
So there won't be any doubt,
You're so wonderful to think of,
But so hard to be without.

After They Are Gone

When someone we love passes away,
We ache, but we go on;
Our dear departed would want us to heal,
After they are gone.

Grief is a normal way to mend
The anguish and pain in our hearts;
We need time to remember and time to mourn,
Before the recovery starts.

Let's draw together to recuperate,
As we go throught this period of sorrow;
Let's help each other, with tender care
To find a brighter tomorrow.

As the sun came up this morning
I watched you there below
Your hearts seemed oh, so heavy
But theres something you sould know
I'm not gone don't worry
I'm just a step ahead
And i'm with you every single day
As you rise up from your bed
I am the sun that warms you
I am the moons soft glow
I am the stars that twinkle
And lights your path below
So when at times you miss me
Just look for me i'm there
For you cannot hide my spirit
It's with you everywhere

Angel Friends

Have you ever found a friend
That makes your heart glow
Someone who is wonderful
You feel honored to know.

Someone to laugh with perhaps even to cry
Someone whom you love
Someone who is comfortable to be around
Someone who just seems to understand.

Someone that you think of day and night
Someone you pray for as you go to bed
Someone who shows up when needed
Thoughts of them are always on your mind.

Someone who shares with you all your ups and downs
Someone who comes when called
Someone who shares your smiles and frowns
Surely you must know, God planted that seed

These seeds God has planted here on earth
Were planted deeply in our friends
They cannot be measured by earth's worth
Only by God's values placed here from the start

Value those friendships, honor their decisions
Respect their feelings and not make demands
Never try to change their dreams to your own
Hold their love tightly in your hands

Refrain from angry if you don't talk to them each day
Trust in friendship, send them a piece of your heart
For a heart can still feel loved even if it's far away
This is how God intended love to be.

Place their memory in your heart and mind
See them for what they really are
Continue to love them for all time

Heartache

I found this poem on the site and thought it was so nice

Heartache

Ten tiny fingers upon your little hand,
Ten dainty toes on your feet to help you to stand,
I look into your sleeping face and my heart is filled with love,
How can something so beautiful now be an Angel above?
Your eyelashes so long upon your sweet face,
No one will ever take your place,
The joy we all waited for is now replaced by tears,
The numbness, the heartache, along with all our fears,
I want to hold you in my arms and never let you go,
My darling child, how I love you so,
A part of me went with you the day you were called home,
I feel that my world has stopped and I feel so much alone,
I gently place you down for one last time,
Tears are on my face as I whisper, "peace be thine",
Without you I am nothing, and never will be again,
All I feel is heartache and a huge, huge pain,
My darling child you will be loved and missed every single day,
Goodbye is to final a word for me to ever say,
God only gave you to us to borrow,
Loved today, yesterday and for all the tomorrows

A Special Hug ((((HUG))))

·:*:· ·:*:· ·:*:· ·:*:··:*:··: *:··: *:· ·:*:· ·:*:· ·:*:··:*:··: *:
I'm sending you a special hug, dont ask me why or how, I just feel that you need it so I'm sending you one now.
You may be feeling sad today for some things aren't quite right, and the cheery smile you usually wear has slipped right out of sight.
So I hope my hug will help to make your spirits soar but if you find one's not enough then I'll happily send you more.

We are connected, my child and I,
by an invisible cord not seen by the eye.
It’s not like the cord that connects us at birth,
this cord can’t be seen by any on earth.
This cord does its work right from the start,
it binds us together, attached by the heart
I know that it’s there, though no one can see
this invisible cord, from my child to me.
The strength of this cord,
it’s hard to describe,
it can’t be destroyed, it can’t be denied.
It’s stronger than any cord man could create;
it withstands the test, can hold any weight.
And though you are gone and you’re not here with me,
the cord is still there though no one can see.
It pulls at my heart, I am bruised, I am sore,
but this cord is my lifeline as never before.
I’m thankful that God connects us this way,
a mother and child…Death can’t take it away.

What Makes A Mother
I thought of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today
I asked "What makes a Mother?"
And I know I heard him say
A Mother has a baby
This we know is true
But, God, can you be a mother
When your baby's not with you?

Yes, you can he replied
With confidence in his voice
I give many women babies
When they leave it is not their choice
Some I send for a lifetime
And others for the day
And some I send to feel your womb
But there's no need to stay.

I just don't understand this God
I want my baby here

He took a breath
and cleared his throat
And then I saw a tear
I wish I could show you
What your child is doing today
If you could see your child smile
With other children and say
"We go to earth to learn our lessons
of love and life and fear
My mommy loved me so much
I got to come straight here
I feel so lucky to have a Mom who had so much love for me
I learned my lessons very quickly
My Mommy set me free.

I miss my Mommy oh so much
But I visit her each day
When she goes to sleep
On her pillows where I lay
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
And whisper in her ear
Mommy don't be sad today
I'm your baby and I am here"

So you see my dear sweet one
Your children are okay
Your babies are here in My home
